Determining factors for breast augmentation.
Before
Breasts come in all different sizes and shapes. The appearance of the breast is a function of many factors which include: the looseness or tightness of the breast skin, and the position of the breast(s) on the chest in relation to the ribcage and breastbone (sternum), the basic shape of the breast.
A breast implant can greatly enhance the appearance of the breast but the ultimate result is significantly affected by the three factors noted above.
Breast augmentation after breast feeding.

The patient on the right has a classic example of “post-partum
involution”. What that refers to is the change that a breast
undergoes after pregnancy and breast feeding which gives it a “deflated” look.
Here is our same patient after undergoing a breast augmentation. As you can see the implants have successfully filled all the loose skin, and have reshaped the breast giving it a more balanced and natural appearance.
Increasing breast volume with breast augmentation.

Today, the vast majority of women who are interested in breast enlargement surgery want to improve the appearance of their breasts, but do not want to look like they have had surgery. This is true regardless of the size of the breasts.
This patient has the typical somewhat “droopy” appearance, which would greatly benefit from the increase in volume provided by breast implants.

After
After surgery, one can see the significant improvement in shape and contour that breast implants offer. Though the size is considerably larger, the breasts maintain a very natural shape.
